Beast Bach – Small but perfectly formed – 11 miles. 12.30pm.
Preseli Beast – The original Beast – 24 miles. 10am.
UltrabeasT -No Ultra for 2024
2024 will be celebrating the 10th anniversary ‘Special Edition’ Beast! This will incorporate an extra special hill, known as the WoD(Wall of Death!). This takes you right up to the highest point, Foel Cwmcerwyn. All routes will incorporate the WoD. I might also create a shorter Beast Bach-bach route, but this will still take in the WoD anyway! So there’s no getting away from it!
Online entry only, circular routes, category prizes, great village atmosphere, amazing marshals, a bespoke slate coaster, free cawl, tea………. and cake to all finishers. Many of the army of volunteers dress up in fancy dress!!! And the finish is next to the Globe Inn!
Please note, please bring your own bowl, spoon, and mug to the event!!! We are being environmentally friendly, and reducing waste!
For those thinking of coming via train to try and reduce their carbon footprint, then the railway station at Clunderwen is only some 6miles away. I would try and arrange to pick you up if you’re coming down this way. There has always been free camping the night before and on the night in the vilage hall car park field. Toilets only in the hall, or in the community car park across from the start/finish. 😉 Pub not far either!!! What’s not to like???
Other Beastly Races:
Preseli Dibdab mountain trial. Sat 22nd JUNE 2024. Navigational event, £10 online entry only. Staggered starts, with first runner off at 10.00hrs.The DipDab is a four hour score event, very much like the Brussel Buster. You will be given a pre-marked waterproof map given on start line. You then have to work out a route to get you to as many checkpoints as possible in four hours. Various points(also marked on the map) will be given depending on location of checkpoint. ie-The harder to get to checkpoints will be worth more points, etc. 😉 Refreshments afterwards. Race start will be announced a week or two before the day, but it’ll be somewhere on the Preselis…..obviously! 😉 You’ll be deducted 10points for every 5 mins you’re over the four hours. However, you can come back in an hour if you so wished. 😉
Carn Ingli Killer– Thurs 18th JULY. 7 PM. 3.5mile with 1,000ft of ascent. £3 entry on the day, with registration from 6pm. Free tea and cake for all finishers. Prizes for category winners. Marked circular course, with amazing views.
Ras Y Cerrig Glas race– Sun 4th AUG. 12.00hrs. 7mile with 1,150ft of ascent. £5 entry on the day, registration from 11am. Free tea and cake for all finishers. Prizes for category winners. Marked circular route. Kids races too from 11.30am, with registration for kids from 11am.
Ras Beca – Sat 17th AUG. 5miler with 930ft of ascent The 45th edition of this iconic race will not be on the usual Bank Holiday weekend!!! 5 miles of rough and tough hilly boggy lovliness!!! Oh, and more tea and cake! What’s more to like? Also junior races as in previous years- Under 8s and 11s – a 0.5mile marked route. And for the under 14s, and 16s – a 1mile marked route. Childrens races from 1.30pm, adults from approx 2pm. Event HQ is near Crosswell, North Pembs.GR121352; W3W- ///troll.hilltop.sake ; Nearest postcode- SA41 3TG. There are some sings in place already. 😉 Adults can enter online for £5, or £6 on the day. Juniors enter on the day for a whole £1. Category prizes- Beer for adults, sweets for the kids.
The Brussel Buster! Sometime between Boxing day, and New years eve. What better way to shake off those extra green balls of power from your Christmas excessiveness than running around, with a map in hand…………..in the dark, for 2hrs! Well, here’s your chance.
